What we check

Seven things search engines and AI tools look for

We read your homepage and up to seven key pages, then score each area.

A guide to the foundations, not an official ranking. How the audit works

  1. Answer readiness New

Do your pages answer customers' questions clearly?

  2. Search accessibility

Can search engines and AI crawlers reach your pages?

  3. Business clarity

Is it clear who you are and how to reach you?

  4. Helpful content

Do key pages have substance and a clear next step?

  5. Structured information

Is your schema markup present and correct?

  6. Local presence

Do you show where you work and what customers say?

  7. Mobile experience

How well does your homepage work on a phone?

Every finding

What we found, why it matters and how to fix it

Findings are ranked by how much they matter and how much work they take, so you know what to do first. Each one quotes the evidence from your own pages.

The full report adds an action plan and the list of every check you passed.

Worth improving Larger project Example

Your homepage's main content is slow to appear on mobile

What we found

On a simulated mobile device, your homepage's main content appeared after 3.8 seconds (Largest Contentful Paint).

Why it matters

Largest Contentful Paint measures how long the main content takes to appear. Slow pages lose visitors, and page experience is one of many signals Google uses.

How to fix it

Compress and correctly size the largest image, serve it in a modern format (WebP or AVIF), avoid lazy-loading it, and reduce render-blocking scripts and fonts.

Evidence

Largest Contentful Paint: 3.8 s; performance score 84/100.

96/100

Strong foundations

yourbusiness.co.uk scored 96 out of 100 on Brava's readiness rubric: strong foundations. A strength: none of the pages we checked is hidden from search results. There's nothing urgent; the main opportunity is that your homepage's main content is slow to appear on mobile.

Scored against Brava's published rubric. It isn't an official ranking or a prediction of AI recommendations.

What the score is, and what it isn't

The score measures the foundations every search engine and AI tool relies on: whether your pages can be reached, read, understood and quoted. It doesn't claim to measure whether any AI tool recommends you, because those answers change between tools and from day to day. The full report shows a dated snapshot of that separately.

Questions

Before you start

Is the audit really free?

Yes. The score, area scores and top findings are free, and so is the full report once you enter your email. There's nothing to pay and no account to create.

Will it tell me whether AI recommends my business?

The full report includes a snapshot: we ask an AI assistant with live web search three questions your customers might ask, and show whether you were mentioned and who was named instead. Answers change from day to day and differ between tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini, so your score measures the foundations they all rely on instead: access, clarity, answers, structured data and mobile experience.

What do SEO, AEO and GEO mean?

SEO (search engine optimisation) helps Google and Bing find and list your pages. AEO (answer engine optimisation) makes your pages easy to quote as a direct answer: customers' questions as headings, short clear answers, and named authors and dates on articles. GEO (generative engine optimisation) helps AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini understand who you are, what you do and where. The audit checks the website foundations all three rely on.

What happens to my email address?

We use it to give you the full report and email you a link to it. We don't add you to a mailing list unless you tick the separate box.

How long does it take?

Usually a couple of minutes. The page updates by itself, and the check carries on if you close it.

Can I check a competitor's website?

Yes. Open “Compare with a competitor” under the address box. You'll see both scores side by side, while each site's detailed findings stay with its own report.
